Hearts a Plenty

My photog kids had their first Photobooth gig at Friday's Valentine dance up at school. I had a team of three girls who volunteered for the job and quickly got to work creating a backdrop from scratch, working out the design,  cutting out the hearts, piecing the white background together from smaller rolls of paper, putting it all together and fixing it to the stands. They were given artistic license to create whatever backdrop they wanted. Below is an image of their completed backdrop.

They also set up all of the lights and camera gear, then ran the Photobooth during the two hour dance. I meant to take photos of the set up but got so caught up in the whole deal that I forgot to document the process. I was proud to see the booth become a huge success on its first go and my little photographers do such a great job with both the photos and their customers. The kids had so much fun having their picture taken and then rushing to the big screen with their friends to see how it came out.

My little team of professional Photoboothers are already planning their next gig and are thinking up what their next backrop will look like. They have also already set the date for the Monday after next, before and after school, when they will open up their little photography shop again and raise money for more photography equipment for the class.

Although I can't really post their student photos here, there was one photographic gem that made my night. Mr. Caldwell was gracious enough to pay a dollar in support of my kids and pose for a Valentine portrait. As the picture no doubt suggests, he is pretty awesome.
