Photobooth Induced Vanity

I am currently testing lighting setups for the upcoming dance at school. My photog kids are going to be running a photo booth for students to come and have their photo taken with friends. I basically copied Savage's SmileBooth, although its not nearly as fancy. The lighting set up is surprisingly simple. One small softbox perfectly aligned with the camera angle and a backdrop. I took my lights home tonight to set it up and take some test shots to see what worked best. I didn't feel like carting my huge paper rolls home to have a proper backdrop, so I just shot against my dining room wall. After a few minutes, I was up and running with exactly what I wanted. As it turns out, having a photobooth at home is quite fun. I think I probably took a hundred photos of myself. Noreen came over and joined the fun so it wasn't a complete narcissistic party of one. Below are two of my favorites.

I am also a little obsessed with this editing preset in Lightroom. Its called B&W Creative-Creamtone. One click editing. Oh, if everything was that easy.
